  1. I think this is pretty insane. 25 lbs of Asparagus? At $4 per pound, that’s not bad. You’ve got a fairly amazing yield. We’re just now beginning to put some pots outside, but it’s not looking too good. I am not sure we’re going to even have a season, but we’ll see how it goes. I hear that people up here have some decent luck with greenhouses though.

    • Hi Jay–Golly, I wish it was 25 lbs of asparagus. It’s actually .25 lbs. Pretty pathetic, eh? Rather than $100 worth of asparagus, we harvested about $1 worth. Ha :). We had an utterly abysmal asparagus crop compared with last year. We’re still trying to figure out what went wrong. Not enough water over the winter? Were we too greedy in our harvesting last year? Dunno.

I vote for a greenhouse for you. Seems like you’ll need one with your impressively snowy winters.

  2. Okay, I’m going to tell you that I feel a bit silly here. I probably should have read that more closely. Hey, it’s the effort! You guys are awesome. Let’s focus on the 3.56 lbs of Spring Onions. Keep up the good work.

    • Thanks for the vote of confidence, Jay :). We were disappointed with our April harvest, because frankly, we got busy and didn’t harvest and consume as much garden produce as we could have. But, there’s no way around the puny asparagus yield. Better luck next year, I hope.
